Technological Improvement of Paper-making Process Reconstituted Tobacco

  • In traditional paper-making process of producing reconstituted tobacco, a step of stem stripping was added. The effects of stripper's rotation speed, washing temperature and moisture content in tobacco stems on stripped stem were discussed, and the influences of stem stipping on extraction, pulping and sheet-base strength were also investigated. The results showed that the optimum stripping effect was obtained when rotation speed, washing temperature and the range of stems' moisture content were 200 r/m, 40℃ and from 30% to 35%, respectively.Stem stripping increased extraction efficiency by about 15%, and reduced pulping time and energy consumption by more than 30%.
