Design and Application of Automatic Foil Splicing System in GDX1 Packer

In GDX1 packer,the foil splicing during bobbin change was manually operated,the operation was complicated and laborsome.An automatic foil splicing system was designed,which made use of existed detectors in the packer and added a phase controller and a cutter driving device in control system and executive mechanism respectively.A PLC processed the logic of the exhausting status of foil gave out an order to cut off the foil and release the exhausted bobbin,and switch to the standing by bobbin.The results of practical application indicated that the system realized foil splicing automatically;it ran stably without any failure in automatic splicing and saved 6.25 minutes per shift during production;the system was convenient in operation and maintenance and featured high efficiency and low labor intensity.
