Dissolving and Reclaiming Cellulose Acetate Tow from Cigarette Butts in Ionic Liquid

    Abstract
  • In order to reclaim cellulose acetate tow(CA)from cigarette butts,an experiment on dissolving and reclaiming CA in 1-allyl-3-methyl imidazole chloride ionic liquid(AMIMCl)was conducted.The result showed that:1)appropriate dissolving temperature and time were 137℃ and 70 minutes,under which 20 gAMIMCl could dissolve 0.76 g CA;2)the infrared spectrograph of pure CA agreed with that of reclaimed product;3)AMIMCl ionic liquid could be used repeatedly for 5 times.
