Determination of Anions of Six Organic Acids in Cigarette Paper by HPLC

A method for simultaneously determining the citric,tartaric,malic,lactic,succinic,and fumaric anions in cigarette paper was developed by extraction with 0.005 mol/L sulfuric acid solution and separation by HPLC.18 cigarette paper samples were tested with the developed method,the results showed that:1) the average recoveries of the six organic acidic anions ranged from 91.64% to 105.09%,with RSDs of ≤ 2.65%;2) the contents of citric,tartaric,malic,lactic,succinic,and fumaric anions in samples ranged from 6.03 to 24.45,0 to 8.13,0 to 6.91,0 to 0.98,0 to 0.31,and 0 to 0.1 mg/g,respectively.
