Application of Suspended Curtain in Upwardly Inclined Feeder

  • The upwardly inclined tobacco feeder usually has a large discharge drop in operation, the orientation of air flow induced by rapidly falling tobacco coming out of the feeder was the main reason causing tobacco spilling. Therefore, the feeder was improved as following:removing cleaning brush and installing a suspended curtain which partitioned the discharge hopper into two parts along the backwall of metering tube.By blocking the passage to minimize air flow, tobacco was deposited freely into the metering tube. After improvement, spilled tobacco decreased from more than 60 kg/day to about 2 kg/day per feeder.
