Improvement of Tear-tape Detector in GD Packing Line

The overwrap film tear-tape detector in GD packing line was effective in opaque(colored) tear-tape detection,however,for colorless transparent tear-tape detection,defective packets with tear-tape missing,breaking or misalignment might happen.Therefore,the tear-tape detector was improved as following:1) using high luminance LED as detection light source instead of incandescent bulb;2) adopting the detecting element with self-study and data processing functions to transmit the signal of tear-tape missing or film splicing to the control box,which released a reject signal and carried out rejection after comparing with a setting value.The results of practical application indicated that the improved detector was convenient in adjustment and operation,whose detection accuracy reached 99%,and the life of the light source prolonged from about 3 months to 2-3 years.
