Regionalization and Principal Component Analysis of Eco-climate Factors of Tobacco Growing Areas in Hubei Province

    Abstract
  • The eco-climate regionalization of tobacco growing areas in Hubei Province was carried out with the principal component analysis and dynamic stepwise cluster analysis of SPSS(Statistical Program for Social Science) software on a GIS platform.The results showed that the tobacco growing areas in Hubei could be divided into four categories:Category Ⅰ was the areas surrounding Shennongjia,mainly including Shiyan;Category Ⅱ included areas in the southwest of Hubei around Enshi;Category Ⅲ was Shennongjia region;and Category Ⅳ was the areas in the northwest of Hubei mainly including Xiangyang and Yichang.The characteristics of each category were briefly commented.
