Producing Bacillus thuringiensis by Liquid State Fermentation of Waste Stem

  • Using waste stems as material,the liquid culture medium formula of Bacillus thuringiensis HD-1 and fermentation conditions were optimized by shaking flask culture with orthogonal experiments.The results showed that the optimum culture medium formula was:basic liquid tobacco stem culture medium adding peptone 1.5%,yeast extract 0.4%,glucose 0.5%,and di-sodiumhy drogerphosphate 0.1%.The preferable condition for fermentation was:volume of inoculation 1%,pH 7.0,temperature 30℃ and shaker speed 180 r/min.The production method of Bacillus thuringiensis insecticide by tobacco stem fermentation is feasible,it opened up a new usage for tobacco waste.
