Relationship of Cut Tobacco's Temperature to its Breakage Rate and Size Distribution

  • Cut tobacco size distribution equation was used to analyze the influences of temperature on the breakage rate and size distribution of shattered cut tobacco, the results showed that:within the test temperature range, 1)the breakage rate of cut tobacco decreased with the rise of temperature; cut tobacco of the cigarette of different grades in the order of breakage rate at the same temperature were Grade Ⅲ> Grade Ⅱ> Grade Ⅰ; in the order of its susceptible to temperature were Grade Ⅰ>Grade Ⅱ>Grade Ⅲ; 2)the variations of size distribution of shattered cut tobacco at different temperatures were mainly represented by the variations of the percentage of cut tobacco in a certain length range, which were 1.4-2.0, 0.7-2.0, 1.4-2.8 mm for Grade Ⅰ, Ⅱ and Ⅲ, respectively; 3) the uniformity of cut tobacco structure decreased with the rise of temperature.
