Study on Moisture Content Control and Relevant Algorithm in Process of Ordering and Casing

Abstract
In ordering cylinder with a traditional single closed-loop control system, the volume of injected water was set according to the operators' experiences, which resulted in wide fluctuation of moisture content in output strips. The control was replaced by a feedforward-cascaded double closed-loop control system, and the relevant control algorithm was optimized. The affecting factors, including fluctuation of moisture content in input tobacco, casing rate, injection steam, and temperature, were accurately quantitatively processed, and the control algorithm was improved. The results of practical running indicated that feedforward-cascaded control system was effective for the moisture content control in primary processing, the moisture content in 99.8% of the ordered strips fell within the control limits compared with 80% before improvement.
