Improvement of Sealing and Lubrication for Gear Shaft Bearings in SQ37A Tobacco Cutter

In SQ37A tobacco cutter, the dustproof gasket for bearing of gear shaft of bottom slat band is not effective for preventing water from entering the bearing while the band is under daily washing, which results in lubrication oil deterioration and bearing damage, and the proper running of band is affected. Therefore, the sealing and lubrication for the gear shaft bearing were improved as following: modifying bearing pedestal, replacing dustproof pad with oil seal, adding an oiling device; replacing aluminum grease with water-resistant grease. The results of application indicated that the sealing and waterproof of the bearing and the reliability of lubrication grease were improved; bearing damage caused by water erosion was reduced, the maintenance work and the cost of spare parts reduced; the life of the bearing increased from 6 to 18 months; and the periodical lubrication of the bearing was realized.
