Abstract
In order to investigate the changes of cigarette quality in opened packet, the sensory quality of cigarette samples of "Septwolves" brand was evaluated in 24 hours after packet opening in different regions, Xiamen and Zhengzhou, and different seasons, summer and winter, respectively. The routine chemical indexes and aroma components in mainstream smoke of the samples were analyzed. The results indicated that: 1) the sensory quality of cigarettes declined no matter where and when the packet was opened; aroma characteristics, smoke characteristics, and sensory pleasurableness declined in a similar way, while aroma note changed differently under different regional environments; 2) total particulate matter, tar and moisture contents in mainstream smoke changed as well, while nicotine and smoke pH changed little;3) the deliveries of aroma components in mainstream smoke changed with regional environments.
