Correlation Between Main Chemical Components and Aroma Components in Yellow Sun-cured Tobacco Leaves

  • The major chemical components and aroma components in four yellow sun-cured tobacco varieties planted in Yunnan were determined,and the correlation between major chemical components and aroma components were analyzed. The results showed that: 1) Between major chemical components and classified aroma components,30 pairs of indices were of extremely significant or significant positive correlation. While 17 pairs of indices were of extremely significant or significant negative correlation. 2) Between the chemical components and specific aroma components,21 pairs of indices were of high or moderate positive correlation and 41 pairs of indices were of high or moderate negative correlation. Two independent correlation analyses showed basically consistent results. The obtained results provided a certain basis for the development,utilization and substitution technology of yellow sun-cured tobacco leaves and the research of characterized raw material for Chinese style cigarettes.
