Design of Auxiliary Device for YF17 Cigarette Storing and Conveying System

Abstract
The downward movement of cigarettes needed to be manually guided when starting cigarette conveying via YF17 cigarette storing and conveying system, therefore an auxiliary device was designed, which consisted of three independent mechanisms, i.e. guide plate vertical movement mechanism, guide plate transverse movement mechanism and guide plate width servo mechanism. The three mechanisms guided the cigarettes orderly under the control of an electric control system. The speed of the vertical movement of the guide plate was adjustable, the maximum stroke of the guide plate was 1200 mm and the transverse movement range was 120-200 mm, and the positional error was less than 1 mm when the guide plate returned to its starting position. The results of application showed that the automation of auxiliary connection device was realized, cigarette moved fluently. The waste cigarettes reduced from about 360 to 75 cig/machine at the initial stage of production. The rate of cigarettes being conveyed properly to the input end of the packer reached 100%, potential safety risks in operation were eliminated, and the quality of cigarette was ensured during conveying.
