Influence of Processing Parameters on Cut Stem Structure and Draw Resistance Stability of Cigarettes

  • The influences of processing parameters including rolled stem thickness, cut stem thickness and stem rolling temperature, on the morphological distribution of cut stems were investigated with orthogonal test. The relationship between the morphological distribution of cut stems and the draw resistance stability of cigarettes was analyzed with regression analysis. The results of variance analysis showed that:rolled stem thickness significantly affected the filling power, the size distribution and the shape proportions of cut stems; stem rolling temperature affected cut stem filling power significantly, cut stem thickness affected the percentages of shorts and chip-like cut stems significantly. Regression analysis indicated that the stability of cigarette draw resistance was influenced by morphological distribution of cut stem, which could be improved by increasing the proportion of fibriform stems and decreasing the proportion of chip-like cut stems.
