Filter Additive with Ability of Reducing Negative Effect of Cigarette Smoke on Human Respiratory System

  • In order to reduce the negative effect of cigarette smoke on smoker's respiratory system, an additive for cigarette filter was made from composite and ericaceous plants, in which the active components responsible for relieving respiratory tract diseases were camphol, β-caryophyllene, germacrone, d-cadinene, scopoletin, and etc.The experimental results showed that some cure effects, such as antiasthmatic, antitussive, expectorant and antiphlogistic, were achieved to a certain extent by adding the additive to cigarette filter.
