Adsorption and Removal of Hydrogen Cyanide from Cigarette Smoke with Al2O3 and TiO2

  • The adsorption and removal of hydrogen cyanide from cigarette smoke with Al2O3 and TiO2 were investigated. The results indicated that by adding 40mg of Al2O3 or 40mg of TiO2 per filter tip, the hydrogen cyanide in cigarette smoke decreased 42% and 34.8%, respectively. The hydrogen cyanide was mainly adsorbed chemically by Al2O3 and TiO2.
