Preparation of Volatile Oil from Mosla dianthera Maxim and its Application in Tobacco Flavoring

  • In order to develop the new resource of natural tobacco flavors, the dry flowers of Mosla dianthera Maxim were extracted with steam distillation.The average yield of resultant volatile oil was about 0.53%.The oil was applied into cigarettes and panel tested.The results showed that the oil can obviously enhance and modify flavors, mask offensive odors, and improve after taste.The recommended addition rate is 1.5×10-5 to 2×10-5.
