Relationship between Flue-cured Tobacco Maturity and Leaf Angle

In an attempt to establish a criterion for judging the maturity of flue-cured tobacco, the relationship between tobacco maturity and leaf angle was studied.The results indicated that the maturity could be expressed quantitatively by the angle between leaf and stalk.The lower leaf of cv.K326 become ripe when its color changed from green to yellow and leaf angle was between 60 and 70 degrees;when the color of cutters and upper leaves turned to 90%yellow and the leaf angle was between 80 and 90 degrees, it was a sign of ripe;the harvested leaves had good curing property, and the cured leaves had good physical characters.
