Relationships of Tobacco Rod Density with Standard Deviations of Weight, Draw Resistance and Hardness

In order to find out the relationships of tobacco rod density with the stability of weight, draw resistance and hardness, the weight, draw resistance and hardness of different grades of cigarette with different tobacco rod density were tested.The results showed that the standard deviations of cigarette weight and draw resistance were lower when the tobacco rod densities of cigarette of grades Ⅰ, Ⅱ, Ⅲ and Ⅳ were about 235, 235, 230~235, and 230 mg/cm₃, respectively.The hardness of cigarette was affected slightly by the change of tobacco rod density in certain range.
