Determination of Menthol in Tobacco Flavor by GC/MS

  • Menthol in tobacco flavor was qualitatively and quantitatively determined by GC/MS with comparison of retention time and selective ion (81amu) mode.The detectable limit of the method was about 0.0028 mg/mL, the average recovery of menthol was 98.52% and RSD was 2.41%.The contents of menthol in some tobacco flavors were also determined by the method.
