Influence of Atmospheric Pressure on Measurements of Draw Resistance of Cigarette and Pressure Drop of Filter Rod

  • In order to investigate the influence of atmospheric pressure (AP) on the measurements of pressure drop (PD) of filter rod and draw resistance of cigarette, the PDs of 23 standard rod with nominal PD of 0.93-12.55kPa were measured in three laboratories at three districts of different altitudes, Kunming (AP 80kPa), Guiyang (AP 90kPa) and Zhengzhou (AP 101.3kPa), under the temperature and humidity conditions defined by national standard, GB/T16447 Tobacco and Tobacco Product Atmospheric Environment for Adjustment and Measurement.The results indicated that the measurements of pressure drop decreased at higher altitude districts.The correction method of pressure drop for higher altitude laboratory was given.
