Improvement of Hot End for Dry-ice Expanded Cut Tobacco:Review on Related Patents

A number of patents related to dry ice expanded tobacco for reducing particle degradation, preventing aromatic substances from losing and avoiding the possible burnt odor had been published. The improvement of hot end focused mainly on the conveying and expanding systems. The mentioned problems could be effectively solved by keeping the temperature of conveying gas-flow below 160℃, preferably 150℃, after the dry basis moisture content of cut tobacco was decreased to 9%.
