Observations on the Life Cycles of Liriomyza huidobrensis (Blanchard)

  • In order to find out the life cycles of Liriomyza huidobrensis (Blanchard), raising and field investigation were conducted during 2000-2001. The results showed that there were 10-11 generations per year in cabbages. The overlap of generations was obviously, and there was no apparent sign of over-winter. One generation spanned 18-24 days at least, and 107-125 days at most. There were 5-6 completed generations during the growth of flue-cured tobacco, the generations were overlapped, one generation spanned 18-34 days, including 2-5 days of egg stage, 7-14 days of larva stage and 8-14 days of pupa stage.
