Physiological Evaluation on Drought Resistance of Introduced Flue-cured Tobacco Cultivars

  • Drought resistance of 4 introduced flue-cured tobacco cultivars(V 2, RG 11, K 326, and K 346)under drought stress conditions in pot experiments was studied. The growth loss rate of each cultivar was compared, and physiological indices, such as chlorophyll content, permeability of cell membrane, CAT activity and MDA content were determined. The results showed that the drought resistances of various cultivars were in order of K346 > RG11 > V2 > K326, and the difference of drought resistance among the cultivars was diminshed with the aggravation of drought stress.
