Experiments on the Control of Heliothis assulta (Guenee), Spodoptera litura (Fabricius)and Myzus persicae (Sulzer)with NPV Preparation

Field experiments on the control of Heliothis assulta (Guenee), Spodoptera litura (Fabricius)and Myzus persicae (Sulzer)with NPV preparation were conducted in 2000 and 2001. The results showed that NPV had good control effect for the Heliothis assulta (Guenee), and little effect for Spodoptera litura (Fabricius), the mixture of NPV and phoxim could concurrently control Myzus persicae (Sulzer). Effective period of NPV in field was about 36 days, control effect reduced linearly by 3.14% per day. The control effect had no relation with pest population. The spread range of the virus by larva moving was limited. The mortality of larva reached maximum on the fifth day after application of the NPV preparation.
