Application of Techniques for Decreasing Density of Tobacco Rod and Increasing Draw Resistance of Filter in Reduction of Tar Delivery

Abstract
In order to reduce the tar delivery of cigarette, the techniques for decreasing the density of tobacco rod and increasing the draw resistance of filter was studied.The results showed that 1)the tar delivery was reduced on an average of 0.1mg per cigarette when the density of tobacco rod was decreased by 1mg/cm3, 2)the tar delivery was reduced on an average of 0.3mg per cigarette when the ratio of draw resistance of filter tip to that of whole cigarette was increased by 1%, and 3)the tar delivery was reduced on an average of 1.1mg per cigarette by use of the both techniques.
