Production and Application of a New Adhesive for Rolling Process Reconstituted Tobacco

A new adhesive for rolling process reconstituted tobacco was prepared from maize starch by alkalization, oxidation, and cross-linking. Experiments on application of the new adhesive in production of the rolling process reconstituted tobacco were conducted. The results showed that the physical properties and smoking quality of the reconstituted tobacco added with this new adhesive were better than those added with carboxymethyl cellulose.
