Effect of the moisture content of cut tobacco on cigarette making quality

The relationship of moisture content of cut tobacco with its degrading resistance property in cigarette making was studied. The changes of quality index such as cigarette weight, loose-ends and defective product rate with moisture variation of cut tobacco were also analyzed. The result showed that suitable moisture contents of cut tobacco in cigarette making were 12.5%~13.0% for premium cigarettes and 13.0%~13.5% for low price cigarettes.
