Diallel Analysis of Yield and Quality Characteristics in Flue-cured Tobacco

Six flue-cured tobacco varieties (strains) were used to produce fifteen combinations by diallel.The analysis of combining ability was carried out.The results showed The results showed that most of the characteristics related to the yield and quality were dependent on both the additive and non-additive genes. According to the general combining ability (GCA) analysis among the parents and the special combining ability (SCA) analysis among the crosses,GCA of different characteristics from the same parent was different from each other,and there was no apparent rela-tionship between SCA and GCA.
