Study on the Elimination of Free Radicals by Cartenoids

The effects that carotenoids added into tobacco clear away free radicals in cigarettes smoke were studied by means of ESR analysis.The results showed that content of the free radicals were reduced significantly with the increase of carotenoids added and carotenoids were good scavengers of the free radicals in cigarette smoke.
