Influence of Fertilization Rate on Growth and Quality of Tobacco Leaf

Fertilization is a very important factor that influences grow th and quality of tobacco leaf.While the amount of fertilizer application increasing, the shape of tobacco plant changed form a tower-type to a cylinder-type, then to a reversed tower-type, and the total sugar content declined, the content of total nitrogen and nicotine increased.The accumulation of nutrients in the tobacco plant was not in balance.The experimental results showed that the adequate amount of fertilizer for the production of high quality tobacco leaf was 8-10kg/mu;the plant appeared in the shape of a cylinder, the plant height ranged between 90~100cm, the length of leaf ranged between 60~80cm, the maximum leaf area indexes ranged between 3~3.5 the growth and development circle in the field ranged between 110~120 days, the increase of leaf area index in the field is in match with the S growth curve equation.
