The Breeding of Male Sterile Hybrid “Guang-Zun No.4” (904)

Abstract

The new male sterile hybrid of tobacco "Guang-Zun No.4" (904)was selected in 1987 by using the "MsG28" as female. The agronomical and industrial tests showed that its average yield, average price, output value and rate of high and middle grade cured leaf were all more than common cultivars. Its resistibility to tobacco mosaic, granville wilt, black shank, weather fleck were stronger as well as the fine quality, stable productibility, well adaptability and easy to cure.
