Determination of β-carotene in Tobacco by High Performance Thin-Layer Chromatography (HPTLC)Scanning

  • This paper reports the HPT LC scanning determination of β-carotene in tobacco. The developer is benzene-acetone(4:1; v/v). The detection wavelength is 450nm and the reference wavelength is 520nm. The linear range of the method is 0.05~0.5μg β-carotene. The method is proved to be simple, sensitive, accurate and reproducible.
