Analysis of Components in Volatile Oil from Lily Magnolia with GC/MS and its Application in Tobacco Flavoring
-
Abstract
The dry flowers of Lily Magnolia were extracted with supercritical CO2 fluid. The average yield of the resulting volatile oil was about 4.15%. The chemical components in the oil were qualitatively and quantitatively analy zed by GC/MS, and fifty-five compounds were identified. The oil was applied in cigarettes as a tobacco flavoring. The results showed that the oil could significantly reduce the harshness, eliminate the offensive odor, and improve the taste of cigarette smoke. The applied amount of the oil was about 1.50×10-5 to 1.75×10-5.
