Extraction of Ligusticum Wallichii and its Application in Tobacco Casing
-
Abstract
The sliced Ligusticum wallichii was extracted with ethanol as a major solvent in Soxhlet apparatus for seven hours, then filtered and concentrated. The extract was applied in cigarettes as a casing. The results indicated that the concentrate could efficiently reduce offensive odor, make tobacco smoke smooth and fine, and improve smoking quality of the cigarettes.
