Development of High Speed Tipping Glue

  • For improving the sealing property of filter assembling in high speed cigarette maker,a new glue adapting to spraying application means was developed by copolymerizing vinyl acetate(VAc),acrylic acid(AA) and methyl methacrylate(MMA).The appropriate makeup proportion of the three monomers,specification and adding rate of polyvinyl alcohol(PVA3),and the viscosity of the tipping glue were investigated.The results showed that:1) The preferable system mass ratio of VAc:AA:MMA was 10:2:1,the adding rate of PVA3 was 40% of the total nonvolatile matter in the new material,and the appropriate viscosity should be controlled within 1700-2400 mPa·s.2) The developed glue possessed good stability in spraying application system,the rejection rate of cigarettes with unsatisfied sealing was 0.06%,and the machine efficiency was up to 92.6%.
