Contents of Petroleum Ether Extracts in Different Portions of Robust Flavor Style Flue-cured Tobacco Leaf

In order to investigate the differences of petroleum ether extract contents between different portions of robust flavor style flue-cured tobacco leaves of various cultivars from different areas,eighteen leaf samples of four flue-cured tobacco cultivars from three regions in Henan were collected,each leaf was cut into 10 portions,and the contents of petroleum ether extracts in every leaf portion were determined.The results showed that:1) The contents of petroleum ether extracts in the 180 leaf portions ranged from 1.91% to 6.82%.2) The contents of petroleum ether extracts in different portions extremely significantly differed with a decreasing trend from leaf tip to base area.3) The contents of petroleum ether extracts in leaves of different cultivars from different areas were significantly different,the counties in the order of leaf petroleum ether extract content were Jiaxian>Xiangxian>Lushi,and the cultivars in the same order were Yuyan 10>Zhongyan 100>Yuyan 11>Yunyan 87.4) The results of system cluster analysis indicated that the leaves could be cut into three consecutive portions from the point of petroleum ether extract content and processed in different ways.
