Design and Application of GIS-based Tobacco Infrastructure Management

For effective supervision of tobacco infrastructure construction process, a GIS-based (Geographic Information System) tobacco infrastructure management system was designed, which was mainly composed of a Web GIS-based subsystem and a mobile GIS-based subsystem. Web GIS-based subsystem could manage infrastructure data in office via a computer and possessed more comprehensive functions, while mobile GIS-based subsystem could search and browse infrastructure data in filed via a mobile terminal (smart phone). The results of application in Zunyi of Guizhou showed that the system met the requirements of office work and mobile work and improved the management level of tobacco infrastructure.
