Producing Candida.sp. HZ19 with Waste Tobacco Stems by Solid State Fermentation

  • To better utilize waste tobacco stems, a strain of Candida.sp. HZ19 was produced with waste tobacco stems by solid state fermentation. The key factors affecting the biomass of Candida.sp. HZ19 were further screened with Plackett-Burman design based on the monofactorial test. The results showed that the optimal fermentation conditions were 30℃ for 3 days, inoculation rate 100 mL/kg, loading rate 10 g/250 mL and stem size 4-5 cm in length. Sucrose, yeast powder and glucose imparted significant effects on HZ19 biomass. Under Plackett-Burman design conditions, the maximum yield of biomass reached 103.24 g/kg (dry weight).
