Embedded Cigarette Weight Control System Based on NI Single-Board RIO

  • In order to improve the extensibility, real-time control and stability of cigarette weight control system in cigarette maker, an embedded real-time cigarette weight control system was designed based on NI Single-Board RIO, which integrated embedded real-time processor, FPGA (Field Programmable Gate Array), analog and digital I/O on one single board. By flexibly configuring I/O via FPGA and adopting NI RIO driver program and LabVIEW graphic programming language, the system effectively reduced development cost and fulfilled the requirements of real-time cigarette weight control. Using fuzzy PID algorithm for cigarette average weight control,the system performed online self-tuning of PID parameters, featured good dynamic response and control precision. The application results showed that the standard deviation of cigarette weight decreased from 25.5 to 21.7 mg, and the system ran stably and reliably。
