Effects of Application Means of Paper-making Process Reconstituted Tobacco on its Utilization and Physical-chemical Indexes of Cigarette

  • In order to improve its utilization, the outcomes of paper-making process reconstituted tobacco being mixed into tobacco blend in strips form and cut strips form, and going through pneumatic drying and thin plate drying were compared in terms of its utilization, the sensory quality and routine chemical components of cigarette, and the intra-batch fluctuation of tar and nicotine deliveries. The results showed that: 1) the utilization of the reconstituted tobacco was 80.8% when it was mixed in strips form, the utilization increased to 93.1% when it was mixed in cut strips form under the condition of pneumatic drying; while under cylinder drying, its utilization increased from 89.8% to 93.3%; 2)comparing with strips mixing, cut strips mixing showed that the contents of soluble sugar and reducing sugar in cut filler and tar delivery in cigarette smoke decreased obviously, the intra-batch fluctuation of tar delivery increased obviously; and sensory quality of cigarettes differed significantly.
